If some of you don't know already, I LOVE fountain pens (any type of pen really) and inks. I dived into pen hell around June/July 2016 and I have a huge wishlist but so little money.
But you need to treat yourself every once in awhile right?! Lets get started on my mini haul and goulet pens review!
♥️ Items ♥️
Inks ~ All ordered were ink samples (because honestly you take years to get through a bottle)
Fountain Pens (in order)
I know I've ordered a ton of TWSBI Eco pens (its just 3 though) but I originally got them because they were decently priced for me and I've heard great things about them and they also include a piston for refils. I also decided to get different sized nibs and color code them to tell the difference between nib sizes. The Pilot Plumix Fountain Pen is a complete blind purchase though so we'll see how that goes when I actually use it!
♥️ Other Notes & Opinions ♥️
So far in my fountain pen endevours, I have only purchased dirt cheap pens, so upon receiving the TWSBI Eco fountain pens I was shocked! There is a lovely case and it includes silicone grease and a mini wrench for maintenance of your intermediate fountain pen! I was a bit skeptical about purchasing an expensive fountain pen, well in this case several, but I'm extremely satisfied already and I haven't even gotten into the technical bits yet!
One thing I was kind of surprised about was how extremely tiny the ink samples were, not that I mind but I somehow thought it would include more in the tube. Apart from the tube seeming to be a pain to fill the fountain pens via a piston converter, I love the idea of the tiny tubes! They are extremely secure but if you fill via the piston converter and your pen is on the slightly larger side you may have a problem fitting your pen in the tube.
When I was purchasing the samples I said to myself "Ooh I'll be getting a whole tube of sample ink", but I was a tiny bit disappointed to recieve less than half, after all the vials ARE 7ml and the samples are 2ml. Just a heads up if anyone would like to purchase sample inks, this is the amount you recieve, its a fair amount but if you have a larger barrel fountain pen it may suck up all of the sample ink! Better purchase your favorite inks fast!
Who loves receiving packages? I do!
Who loves receiving extra goodies in packages? I do!
I absolutely love when companies take the time out to send either a thank you note (hand written or typed out), candy or both! I received a thank you note from goulet pens with my pilot con-50 attached to it, a request for reveiw on packaging and a cute "Happy Happy holidays" note from Anna in a lovely Pilot Iroshizuku Ink! Thanks for making me add that ink to my large list of inks!
I fogot to take a picture, but they sent a lolipop as well and its extremely yummy, so that definitely made my day.
♥️ Goulet Pens Review ♥️
I have ordered 8 items from Goulet Pens (link here) on December 11th 2016 and chose USPS international shipping.
They were shipped on 12th December 2016 and I recieved a tracking code for the package!! They were rather detailed updates until it left America and I ended up recieving the package on 9th January 2017! It seems like quite a wait but there were alot of holidays during and I dont live in the US! Despite all of the holidays it arrived within the time stated!
The packaging is a 5/5!
Not only is everything safe and secure but the bubble wrap is that new high tech stuff that doesnt pop! (gasp!)
All the items were recieved and I'm dying to buy the full version to the Diamine Golden Sands and the J. Herbin Rouge Hematite (1670 Anniversary Ink)
Overall Rating - I'd say a 5/5
I had no problems, just the holidays made it seem like I waited forever for my package, however if I wanted it quicker I should have chosen the faster shipping method. The staff at goulet pens are very nice and they also include little handwritten cards and a candy! Maybe its because of the holidays but the extra goodies were nice to recieve! Also my items were safe and not damaged (thats what matters right?!), why shouldn't goulet pens get a 5 out of 5?
